The Founding Meeting of the St. John’s Metro Umpires Softball Association Was Held at Bennett Brewery (Carling O’Keefe) On Sudbury Street.

1973 Tuesday, August 14
An Award Was Initiated In Memory Of Umpire Jack McCarthy Who Passed Away On Thursday, August 9th, 1973 At The Age Of Fifty One Years.

This Award Was To Go To A Player On An Annual Basis Judged The Most Gentlemanly From A League Which Metro Officiated.
