Female Mentorship Program

Ottawa, ON – Softball Canada is thrilled to announce the launch of its inaugural Female Mentorship Program on International Women’s Day 2021! This program is designed to develop future female administrators, coaches, and umpires within the softball community throughout Canada.

The 18-month mentorship program for women in softball will connect mentees interested in advancing their softball knowledge and skills in coaching, umpiring, or administration with experienced and seasoned Softball Canada mentors.  It will also provide an opportunity for those looking to give back to the sport of softball to act as advisors to up and coming women in the game.

Throughout the program, all participants will have the chance to take part in career development opportunities, develop their strengths and professional abilities, network with like-minded individuals, and enhance their leadership skills.

“Mentorship is an area Softball Canada has wanted to expand on for a very long time in all areas of our programming” said Angela Ballantyne, Softball Canada’s Manager of Long Term Player Development Programs. “We are excited to launch the program we’ve developed and look forward to building a strong community within softball to support the next generation of leaders in our game.”

Softball Canada is accepting mentor applications until April 9th, 2021. The mentee applications process will open shortly thereafter.  To apply and for more information regarding this program, visit www.softball.ca/femalementorship.
