8 Selected To SMNT Athlete Pool

Softball Newfoundland & Labrador are extremely proud to announce that 8 Newfoundland & Labrador natives (7 residing in NL and 1 residing in AB) have been selected to the 2012-13 Senior Men’s National Team Athlete Pool.

The 8 Newfoundland and Labrador natives who have been selected are:

Sean Cleary (Harbour Main, NL)
Blair Ezekiel (Harbour Main, NL)
Brad Ezekiel (Harbour Main, NL)
Justin Gill (Colliers, NL)
Jason Hill (St. John’s, NL)
Stephen Mullaley (Freshwater, NL)
Sean Whitten (Calgary, AB)
Note: Whitten is from Petty Harbour, but currently resides in Calgary, AB.

38 players have been selected from across Canada to the 2012-13 Senior Men’s National Team Athlete Pool. The breakdown of the 38 players province-by-province is as follows: 15 from Ontario, 7 from Newfoundland & Labrador, 6 from British Columbia, 3 from Saskatchewan, 2 from Nova Scotia, 1 from Alberta, 1 from Manitoba, 1 from New Brunswick, 1 from Prince Edward Island and 1 from Quebec.

In 2012, the Senior Men’s National Team will compete at the VIII Pan American Softball Championship, which will take place from September 15 to 23, 2012 in Medellin, Colombia. This Championship will serve as a qualifier for the 2013 International Softball Federation (ISF) XIII Men’s World Championship, which will be held March 1 to 10, 2013 in Auckland, New Zealand.
