Passing of Mr. Gord Dean

Softball Newfoundland & Labrador was saddened to learn that Gord Dean passed away on Tuesday, January 25th, 2011.

Gord was involved with Softball for many years and umpired countless games at the Carbonear Ball Park.

Gord’s contributions on and off the field will truly be missed.

Obituary for Gordon C. Dean

Dean, Gordon C. passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, Gordon C. Dean of Carbonear, age 62 years. Predeceased by parents: Wm. Aubrey and Susanna Dean; parents-in-law: James and Elizabeth McCarthy. Leaving to mourn, wife: Helen ‘Margie’; one daughter: Janice (Peter Connors), Georgetown, ON; two sons: Eugene (Julie), Fergus, ON and Carson (Brooke) Elora, ON; three grandchildren: Caitlin Burden, Breanna and Madison Connors; one sister: Janice (Gary) Swain, Carbonear; three nieces: Shelley Swain-Somers (Brendan), Sheena (Jason) Martin and Kristen (Christopher) Power; a large number of sisters and brothers-in-law and other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel’s Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Funeral service to take place on Friday, January 28 at 2:00 p.m. from Bethel Pentecostal Church, Victoria. Interment in Bethel Pentecostal Cemetery, Victoria. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Gordon C. Dean Memorial Fund. Visitation hours at Noel’s Funeral Homes are 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. daily.
